How do I find Club
Red?
Club Red is centrally located in Dahab on the waterfront
in Mashraba area just beside the Police Station.
Is the dive center
open during Christmas, New Year, Easter, Ramadan and other
holidays?
Yes, we operate 365 days a year… although some of
our staff keeps begging each year for a late start on the
1st of January!
My friends are
diving but I am not, can I join them when they go on a guided
dive?
Yes of course, most of the dive sites in Dahab are also
excellent for snorkeling. Snorkeling equipment is available
to rent at Club Red.
I would like to
start diving but I don’t have enough time for the
PADI Open Water Diver course, what can I do?
You can make an introductory dive. It takes half a day only.
Or if you have a minimum of 2 days you can enroll in the
PADI Scuba Diver course. (Scuba diver)
I am a certified
diver but I haven't dived for a while will I need a refresher
dive?
Yes, if you haven’t dived within the last 6 months,
you will be asked to do a check dive. There is a short diving
quiz to complete and one of our qualified divemaster will
take you for a nice and easy dive including some skills
such as mask clearing, regulator recovery and clearing,
air sharing procedures, buoyancy control… Not only
it is mandatory according to the local regulations but it
is a fun thing to do and definitly an excellent way to go
back in the water smoothly after a long period without diving.
What documentation
do I need to bring when diving with Club Red?
Passport and, except if you are beginner, proof of your
diving certifications and log book. However if you are a
certified diver and have forgotten your diver card we can
also check on line your PADI certifications.
How long do I have
to wait after diving before I go on a Mount Sinai/St Catherine
Monastery excursion?
Since these sites are located at high altitude, you will
be advised to respect the current flying after diving guidelines.
Usually, a minimum of 12 hours is recommended.
Is there a recompression
chamber in Dahab? And what about diving insurances?
Yes. There is even two hyperbaric chambers! Club Red holds
a DAN club membership insurance for civil liability towards
third parties… however it doesn’t cover individual’s
diving injuries. If you don’t hold already a diving
insurance and want to dive insured, one of these chambers
offers an optional coverage. (Dahab Deco International Chamber)
Can you arrange
accommodation for divers?
Yes. We even offer discounted rates for them in the Mohamed
Ali Hotel (Mohamed Ali)
Can I pay by credit
card?
Yes, as of end of September 2009
Is there access
to the Internet in Dahab?
Yes, there are a lot of high speed internet cafes everywhere
in Dahab.
